Awaiting Baby Sister

As we await for the arrival baby girl, James and I are having ourselves a fun little American experience.  It is nice to be in the USA and take advantage of all the things living here has to offer.  Sometimes I feel a little guilty that James, who has never lived in the USA, is being deprived of the great American childhood. I think in the end he will be happy for his childhood overseas.  I just hope we can instill in him a great pride in the USA despite not living here.

I have been feeling pretty good (although perhaps not looking so good) and have been thankful for this.  Since I feel so well I am taking advantage of getting out every single day.  Here is a bit of what we have been up to in our first week in Maryland.

A trip downtown to DC to see the beautiful Cherry Blossoms.

Our little buddy Jonathan has been fun to get to know more.  Lucky for us his mom is a "single mom" (husbands deployed) with us these days and we get to do everything together.
On our first weekend we visited a little steam engine and tractor fair at a local county farm.

Here is telling Uncle Brian all about the engine. ;-)
 Eating his first funnel cake.
 Brushing the billy goats.
On one of the many tractor on display. There was even a baby pink one.
Playing in the hay with grandma.
 Grandma took James to Build-a-Bear.
They decided on a fireman bear to remember our adventure the previous night when we had to call the fire department because the neighbors backyard was on fire!
James looks to be a happy kid with his fire bear that we named "Bombero".

She's single...

...not that any eligble guys are looking at this blog, but just in case I want them to know this fact.
Sheryl is gem.  So proud to know her  and to see they way she is making the world better.  Grateful to have personally expereinced her magical zest for life... and, to have seen those dance moves up front, yeeeah. ;-)

Sheryl, see you in DC... cause I leave TODAY!

And, on the subject of leaving for DC today... pinch me cause this does not seem real!  Am I really having a baby so soon?  Doc. said she is measuring a week later... why am I not surprised.  Just don't come too fast little nina.

March Madness

March brings a very special birthday - my Danny mans!  We didn't do anything too exciting.  Dinner, some gifts, and always a chocolate cake for my guy.  It is more fun to have birthdays with James around.  He gets excited and can even sing the happy birthday song now.
HaPPy BiThDaY to our favorite guy!!

I love this pic of them blowing out the candle.
It's the dry season in Panama and we are LOVING it.  We spend a lot of time outside on walks and riding our bikes in the 'hood.  I wish the dry season lasted all year.

32 weeks big!!
James' lilttle buddy Milan.
We have neighbors from Belgium, Scotland, Finland, England, and all over Latin America.

Happy March to all.  And, may I add in honor of the true "March Maddness" ...

GO COUGS!!

Gotta love the respect BYU is getting for standing for something.

Lets go Cougs!!!

In other news.  I am LIKE 30 weeks, LIKE when did that happen?!  This pregnancy had flown by.  I am not complaining but I am feeling a tad uprepared.  But, are you ever prepared for this?  In less than a month my little dude and I travel to Maryland to wait for baby girl to arrive.  My only fears at this point are Danny does not make it in time for the birth, the little miss comes too fast for an edpidural (J made his debuted in record time), and well, that I'll pop like a balloon because that is where my swelling feet and legs are headed!

27 Weeks and Counting...

Shopping for a Girl

I always thought it would be so fun to shop for a girl but, now that I am pregnant with a girl I find myself drooling over all these cute boy things.  What's my deal!?

But, I did spot these adorably sweet little toesie covers the other day and I have to have them...

Find them at Trumpette, Amazon, or Uncommon Goods.  Can't wait for mine to arrive!

Share your "have to have them" for a girl (or boy) finds!

Christmas in Panama!

It was the hottest Christmas for me (Brasil circa 1997 was a close second) and for all of us.  Danny, being from Galveston, TX, did not mind a warm holiday but I longed for some cold temps.  Really, I only want cold weather until New Years Eve after that I just want spring and summer.

Despite the hot weather it was still a festive and memorable Christmas for our little family.  It was in fact the first ever Christmas for our little family to not be around other family.

So late, but...

James sporting the Christmas gift Grandma and Papa sent him.  He loves it.  Every time he finishes his bath I have a rana (frog in Spanish) hopping around my house.
Christmas Eve we had some friends from Church come over for dinner and to share the Nativity story with.

 The Star!
My friends, Kerri and Spencer, have a 7 month old daughter.  I was in heaven thinking about how I would have a 7 month old daughter next Christmas!  Little Ali is the sweetest, and sure made for a cute and active newborn baby Jesus. ;-)
The Angel!

The Donkey!
 Christmas morning!

My cute husband/dish washer. Love the bows!

Making home-made pizza - a new family tradition.

Making gingerbread cookies - an old school family tradition.
Check out that Choo-choo, we do not mess around!!
