My baby is 3!

Since my last blog entry was the announcement of Nellie May's birth I though it would be fitting to start again with marking her third birthday.

Nellie May was a darling baby girl. Sweet, fat, and content. She had me fooled thinking she would be a peachy little toddler. She is a fire cracker who never stops her show. She keeps us all in hysterics with her never ending faces and her on-going acts. She has a great imagination. We find she is frequently carrying on dialogues with herself, making costumes changes, and on extra wonderful days we even get the musical version of her imagination. She especially loves to play mommy and would have you think that being a mommy is all about wearing high heels and jewelry while toting a purse and baby on the hip. We love her and are so happy to have her energy and passion in our home.

 This year for Nellie May's birthday we were in MD.  Before we had to drive back to NC we got to enjoy a quick family party with some of her cousins.  Extra special was that Aunt Allie, Uncle Tristan, and cousins Tate and Stevie were in town from CA. It has been 2 years since we saw them all.

Still Awaiting...

James and I are still enjoying our days in the USA.  We are taking lots of walks, trips to the parks, and eating out entirely too much!

 Instead of jungle animals we see a lot emergency vehicles on our walks. 

James is not unhappy about this at all. ;-)

 I found two little bikes for James on Craigslist for a steal.  James was so excited to ride his "new" tricycle that he held the handle the whole 20 minutes home.

 37 weeks!  Almost there!

Awaiting Baby Sister

As we await for the arrival baby girl, James and I are having ourselves a fun little American experience.  It is nice to be in the USA and take advantage of all the things living here has to offer.  Sometimes I feel a little guilty that James, who has never lived in the USA, is being deprived of the great American childhood. I think in the end he will be happy for his childhood overseas.  I just hope we can instill in him a great pride in the USA despite not living here. 

I have been feeling pretty good (although perhaps not looking so good) and have been thankful for this.  Since I feel so well I am taking advantage of getting out every single day.  Here is a bit of what we have been up to in our first week in Maryland.

 Our little buddy Jonathan has been fun to get to know more.  Lucky for us his mom is a "single mom" (husbands deployed) with us these days and we get to do everything together.

 On our first weekend we visited a little steam engine and tractor fair at a local county farm.

 They decided on a fireman bear to remember our adventure the previous night when we had to call the fire department because the neighbors backyard was on fire!
