Ok, so DC United plays the LA Galaxy tonight but they might as well just say that the game is against David
Beckham or even better Posh Spice. Seriously though, I was listening to the radio today and everyone was talking about the DC United game which never happens. As a loyal United fan who attends a fair amount of games I can't decide if I should be mad at the fact that I can't go to the game tonight because it sold out like 3 months ago, or annoyed at t

he fact that most of the people going to the game are not there to cheer on the United but are there only to see the Beck-
ster probably warm the bench. It reminds of the time I went to see the Wizards play the Jazz in Salt Lake when Michael Jordan was playing for DC. I would bet that 2/3 of the people there had on Wizards jerseys (# 23 of course because who knows who # 3 Juan Dixon is anyway? He only
sleeps in my old bedroom.)
But on the other side of this I feel like I should welcome the fact that Beckham and his Spice Chick are bringing soccer some attention, after all it is the World's football. So here is to hoping that the USA will, through the help of 2 Brits, start to recognize the true best game out there.
