Serenade.

I was just on the phone with these 2 cuties:

I was having a kinda frustrating day until I asked them to sing me a song. You know - like primary song or something. No, they rocked out singing this song:

They even stuck in my name, dad's name, etc. I feel like a new woman after feeling their vibes.

Yeah, my niece and nephew are cooler than yours... =)

And Speaking of Babies...

My friend Carole Ann and her hubby Jon are having a baby in January! Congrats! I am thrilled and can't wait to know what kinda bundle of joy it is - either way what a cutie it is going to be!!!
I am so happy that the cats outta the bag because (just to tease you all) I have been keeping 3...count 'em 3 pregnancy secrets. I hope 2 is going to be easier to keep... probably not. =)
And just so you know - Fort Knox here - so don't even try to get it outta me.
Also, my friends Rylie and Chris are expecting a girl! Rylie snuck in for a second ultra-sound after the baby was hiding it's parts in the first one. I am so thrilled for them! She is going to be one gorgeous baby girl!
Oh man, I just love all things babies - probably because James is currently sleeping through the night. Haha.
.

P to the S... Happy 9 months James-i-poo! Wow! How time flies...

A Very Mexican 4th!

*Happy 4th of July!*

Strange to be celebrating it in a foreign country but at the same time fitting - I have a deeper respect and love for my country than ever before.

I love Mexico.
I love Brasil.
But nothing will ever compare to the love I have for
the United States of America.

We celebrated with Hamburger, hot dogs, root beer, and ice cream. Very American.
We celebrated with a pinata, arracherra, guacamole. Very not-American.
We celebrated all afternoon, which made me a happy girl and... a tired girl.

But I do miss this today:

(Fact: This is my FIRST 4th not in our Nations capital (ok, there was one year I had to go to Pioneer Trek) but I am a faithful D.C. firework attender - rain, hail, terrorist threats, or shine!)

I am proud to be an American - in Mexico - and always.

God Bless the U.S.A

Xochimilco (so-chi-mil-co)

Xochimilco is better known for its extended series of canals — all that remains of the ancient Lake Xochimilco.
This was our boat. Hmm...Is it a sign? My mom's name is Maria and she is Brasilian. Our Captain (and our Mexican).
Chance? How did he get down to Mexico? He missed Danny too much I guess.
Me with my little Mexicano.
Uh? What is more strange - that it says USA -or- that the "u" is backwards? Don't they have the letter "u" in their alphabet?
And other happenings...
Snow is Mexico? No. It's just a hail storm. How cute can we get?
Er...How gross can we get?

Ode to My Older Sister

Carmen,
Why do you have to look great pregnant? Why do you still weigh less than me at 30 weeks pregnant? Why doesn't any fat want to jump on your arms, thighs, butt, ankles, cheeks, fingers, toes, ok you get the point. And hold up! This is child #4! Let review some things...

Carmen -child #4- all belly
Lauren - child # 1 -all pudge! And if Carmen looks familiar...
well...
here is me in a brunette wig.And lastly, why is your kid sleeping on the job. He better get his act together before his sister arrives! =)

Oh man! I miss you guys! =(

Hi Grandma!

Are you happy that my mom updated the blog WITH pictures of me this time?

Love you.

James

June '09

Ah, The Great Outdoors! Haha, that movie is a classic. No bear attacks or unexpected guests but it still was an adventure. Here we are with our little cabana. They called them cabana's but to me that sounds too tropical - these were definitely rustic!See what I mean...James sucking on wine corks...and enjoying them WAY too much!
Me! All ready for my hike and zip-line experience.Ouch! Or maybe not...These were the coolest zip-lines I have ever been on. You take 4 different lines to get back down to the lake at the bottom. This first line is probably 15 stories high! The views were fantastic!
James meeting his first horse.
And that is all.
The following are evidence of animal behavior...

And thanks James for helping me find all the dangers I need to child-proof.

The Zoo (Again). You would go all the time too if you saw this place. I still have not been able to see the whole thing - it's huge!

Our partners for the day -Luisa and Joseph.
James and me and the big snake I got suckered into buying.

Why are these things soooo ugly...
and why do they have such bubbly butts?

Fun Find

I was blog stalking in my spare time (oh to think of what I should've been doing) and found myself on the Etsy website looking at some ridiculously cute fabric. My search is over.
Thank you Charlie and Lindsay.

PS

Doesn't James and Nate look like they could be twins!? Just a few years apart!

I mean I guess when I say that Nathan is sooooo cute - I am totally serious! =)

A very special boy was born!

Nate-Dogg,

We wish we were there to celebrate. James is in tears because he really wants to eat your cake with you - he has resorted to eating post-it notes instead. Yuck. We hope that we get to see you soon. We love you!

Xoxo,

Uncle Danny, Aunt Lauren, and Cousin James
