Time Flies

When you are having fun!!!
We can't believe that we have been here 7 months already. There is so much to see and do in Mexico and we better hurry up before we leave next summer!
.
Here is what we have been up to over the last month...
.
Las Estacas! Danny and I visited here just before James was born. Last time I did not jump in for fear of going into labor or not being able to keep afloat (lets be honest I was HUGE!). This time I got to have my fun.

Lots of rope swinging!

James by the end of the day - Trying to eat... ...but can't quite keep awake! Pobre sito!

James says - Yeaaaaah for Daddy's Birthday! James enjoyed the wrapping paper...we enjoyed the cake. =)

Saturdays at Lincoln Park in Palonco.

Danny, a friend, and the friends father-in-law decided to hike to the summit of Nevado de Toluca - a stratovolcano that has not erupted since 1350 BC - good thing! The summit is at just over 15,000 feet! Wow!

The beast ahead...

The 2 crater lakes - lago del sol (left, sun lake) and lago de la luna (moon lake)
In view of the peak. He made it! Way to go Danny!
(D.Andrew is this tempting or what!?)

This was Lucha Libre night. Sadly, they would not let me take my camera in... don't wanna distract the luchadors, of course. I don' think I had laughed so hard in years! People really get into it...especially the elderly ladies. Watch out! So instead we have pictures from after at Plaza Garibaldi. We went to hang out, hear the mariachis, and play the "lets all get shocked game." Who knows...
Thanks Emron and Annie for the fun night!

I think this guy liked turning up the electricity! Ouch!

Singing along to our Mariachi Band.

A Trip to the Zoo. It was a quick one b/c so many people were there because of Semana Santa. But we are sure to go back! It was a beautiful and HUGE Zoo...so much more to see!

Tired...
...more tired!

This week: Off to Veracruz for some beach action.
Next week: Meeting President Obama.
Visitors - Come on down!!! =)

A Visit to MARYLAND!

I can't believe it has only been aweek and a half since we were in MD - feels like it was ages ago. We had too much fun being at visiting everyone! Poor little J was a little out of it - I guess traveling to a new place that is freezing cold is not his cup of tea. Good thing when we go back it will be nice and warm - can't wait until May!!!

Here are some pictures from our trip...

Eating with friends

James got to meet his Aunt Allie and Uncle TristanDrew and Kara

We got to celebrate Ryan's 1st Birthday! Whats a cutie! Little J meeting his Aunt Katy! And cousins Aidan and Lily!

Joanie was in town with buddy Manoa too! And Brandy with a future buddy in her tummy! =) Kara and Drew had us over for a Super Bowl Party! Good times! We got to go to Aidan and Lily's soccer games.

AND... BABY RESSE WAS BORN!!! As you can see James loves her <3

The Desonier family...beautiful! Meeting cool Uncle Brandon.Holding his hand...he knows his family!

What I'm Lovin'

It has been warm and sunny all week and it is just getting me into the summer mood! I have no idea how Mexico City's weather works really, since winter is not really that cold, but apparently it seems kinda like we are entering spring now and summer will be here soon.
So in honor of the fever...

I saw these in a berry color on a lady in Ikea in the U.S. She said she found them at Costco. Crocs makes them in lots of colors but I am eyeing the Mango.

One pieces just keep getting cuter - where were they when I was a teen?
J.Crew and it comes in a handful of colors too.

Love the color, love the tie, love the sleeve length, love the air-i-ness. BR.

When I was in Maryland I tired this little mix and fell in love. Guacamole is always a fav but you can skip squeezing of lemons and limes and just throw in this. Yum!

And in every season I am lovin' this little dude.

Pictures from our trip to Maryland soon...

An Amazing Day

How incredible was it was to see Barack Obama sworn in as the 44th President of America!? It was a truly patriotic moment for the USA. It was moving to see the millions of people there waving flags and honoring this truly important man. AND...what an eloquent speaker that Mr. President is! Wow!

Not to take away from the grandeur but I do also want to mention how completely upsetting and annoying it is to hear so many people boo President Bush when the announcer welcomed him. I really think it is disgraceful that Americans, being so blessed, would actually think to try to humiliate a man that has spent the last 8 years of his life serving us. I understand people do not agree with some of his decisions and I even respect that people would protest against him during his office. Freedom of speech is important and a wonderful freedom we enjoy. But I do not think it is acceptable that on this day, a day that is a joyous celebration, for people to show this kind of action. I hardly doubt that Barack Obama enjoyed the booing. It was Barack Obama's special moment and not a moment to pay such disrespect to a leader on his way out. There is a time and a place...it was neither. Also, what the rest of the world must think of Americans, again, who are so blessed and yet they shame their own elected leader.

I would only hope that everyone will respect President Obama regardless of their political party, political ideology, race, or religion.
God Bless President Obama and God Bless America.
Proud to be an American on this very special day!
