A Visit to MARYLAND!

I can't believe it has only been aweek and a half since we were in MD - feels like it was ages ago. We had too much fun being at visiting everyone! Poor little J was a little out of it - I guess traveling to a new place that is freezing cold is not his cup of tea. Good thing when we go back it will be nice and warm - can't wait until May!!!

Here are some pictures from our trip...

Eating with friends

James got to meet his Aunt Allie and Uncle TristanDrew and Kara

We got to celebrate Ryan's 1st Birthday! Whats a cutie! Little J meeting his Aunt Katy! And cousins Aidan and Lily!

Joanie was in town with buddy Manoa too! And Brandy with a future buddy in her tummy! =) Kara and Drew had us over for a Super Bowl Party! Good times! We got to go to Aidan and Lily's soccer games.

AND... BABY RESSE WAS BORN!!! As you can see James loves her <3

The Desonier family...beautiful! Meeting cool Uncle Brandon.Holding his hand...he knows his family!
James also met Uncle Will and his better half Michelle!

And then there was meeting his namesake. Papa or Grandpa Jim!!!

More time with the cousins. He enjoyed eating Lily's hand and she did not seem to mind!
Cousin luvin'!!!

Sad we did not get pictures of everyone... We got to see Uncle Brian who held James all the time - thanks! We also saw Abbey my good friend from High School, and my long time neighbors Jo and Rachel, and lots of old Church friends too!

What I'm Lovin'

It has been warm and sunny all week and it is just getting me into the summer mood! I have no idea how Mexico City's weather works really, since winter is not really that cold, but apparently it seems kinda like we are entering spring now and summer will be here soon.
So in honor of the fever...

I saw these in a berry color on a lady in Ikea in the U.S. She said she found them at Costco. Crocs makes them in lots of colors but I am eyeing the Mango.

One pieces just keep getting cuter - where were they when I was a teen?
J.Crew and it comes in a handful of colors too.

Love the color, love the tie, love the sleeve length, love the air-i-ness. BR.

When I was in Maryland I tired this little mix and fell in love. Guacamole is always a fav but you can skip squeezing of lemons and limes and just throw in this. Yum!

And in every season I am lovin' this little dude.

Pictures from our trip to Maryland soon...

An Amazing Day

How incredible was it was to see Barack Obama sworn in as the 44th President of America!? It was a truly patriotic moment for the USA. It was moving to see the millions of people there waving flags and honoring this truly important man. AND...what an eloquent speaker that Mr. President is! Wow!

Not to take away from the grandeur but I do also want to mention how completely upsetting and annoying it is to hear so many people boo President Bush when the announcer welcomed him. I really think it is disgraceful that Americans, being so blessed, would actually think to try to humiliate a man that has spent the last 8 years of his life serving us. I understand people do not agree with some of his decisions and I even respect that people would protest against him during his office. Freedom of speech is important and a wonderful freedom we enjoy. But I do not think it is acceptable that on this day, a day that is a joyous celebration, for people to show this kind of action. I hardly doubt that Barack Obama enjoyed the booing. It was Barack Obama's special moment and not a moment to pay such disrespect to a leader on his way out. There is a time and a place...it was neither. Also, what the rest of the world must think of Americans, again, who are so blessed and yet they shame their own elected leader.

I would only hope that everyone will respect President Obama regardless of their political party, political ideology, race, or religion.
God Bless President Obama and God Bless America.
Proud to be an American on this very special day!

Studying Up

James has been preparing hard for his upcoming travels to Maryland. First order of business has been to study who is who.

Most important on the list - Cousins Aidan and Lily, duh!
Next on the list - Puppy dog Chance.

Oh yeah, and this is what Danny was doing with our 3 month old as mom slept in this morning.
Thanks Josh for inspiring him. =)

Ole! It's 2009 Folks!

There... now that we have 2 pictures of Little J outta the way for my mother who insists she only wants to see "portraits" of him and only him... I guess Dan and I are not that interesting...

....Ok, now on to other news...

Wow, where does time go? I keep thinking that soon it will be 2020 and I will have a teenager! Yikes! Hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve. We enjoyed the company of our Church friends - it was a good time with lots of food, games, and football. We enjoyed watching the Times Square coverage and our Mexico City's version of Times Square - New Years celebrations are just strange to me. So much craziness. Mexico City probably trumps NYC because the celebrations go on and on through the night. I was hearing fireworks at 4am! Thankfully I was safe and sound at home in my bed.

On New Year's Day we ventured over to Bosque de Chapultepec, which is like the Central Park of Mexico City. We enjoyed the fresh air (well, as fresh as it can get here), entertainers, vendors, and locals who love to stare at us.

This is Dan proudly displaying his first born sporting his first (and surely not last) Houston Astro's shirt. Don't worry siblings of mine we have an adequate supply of Baltimore Orioles shirts too. =)

And this is James and his little twin friend Tyson - born the same day! Tyson is so darling and we just love spending time with him and his equally darling big brother......Zach! (and mom and dad too!)
