4th of July!

Kinda late...
It was a rainy 4th in the Nations Capitol but it was still a good one!
Here are our various methods to keep dry...
Small Umbrellas Big Umbrellas Garbage Bag Ponchos
Baseball Caps and Garbage Bag Doo-Rags

Hill Cumorah!

We decided last minute to join Danny's sister's family and dad's family and go up to NY and see the pageant. It was a great time. The pageant was much better than I remember it being back from my youth conference days. It was short trip but we got to see the Sacred Grove, The Smith Log Home, and Frame Home, as well as the place where they first printed the Book of Mormon. It was nice and quick get away - sometimes the best kind!
I am really bad about remembering to take pictures. Here the ones we took. They are from our walk to the Sacred Grove.
Walking...
Walking...Resting...Potty Breaks...(thanks Danny)
More Walking...
It really was not a long walk but with 6 kids and 1 pregnant woman
it just seemed that way! =)
On the way back from NY we stopped in Scranton...had too. Some of you might understand why. Sadly we did not see the Dunder Mifflin Building. ; )

Prego Wear

Pregnant and need a nice dress for a wedding that your little sister strategically planned when you are 8 months along?
(was that a run-on sentence!?)

Check out Isabella Oliver!
(link below)

It's a UK based company but they ship easily to the US. I like the fashionably designed clothes with simple solid colors. I have been disappointed with a lot of maternity clothes being too busy - who needs all those patterns and florals to make an already large mid-section even larger!?
Too bad it's inappropriate to wear white to a wedding because I love the dress above.

Delayed (again)

Boo! We got delayed again. Mexico will have to wait - for now. =( At least we are missing out on the rainy season down there. =)

Baby T is doing great - more active than ever. So happy to be in the last trimester! I got a call from the Dr. that I have anemia, which would not be so bad except the iron pills I am taking are making me have daily nose bleeds - hopefully they won't make me constipated - yum! =)

Introducing the Newest (and cutest)...

Ballerina!

It's July?!

What happened to June (and May)!?!? Here are some highlights from the last little while...

Georgetown Law School Graduation! Diane graduated with her law degree and I am so proud of her! I was there when she opened her acceptance letter to G-town back at BYU so it was clearly an honor to see her come full circle and graduate! Thanks Diane for letting us be a part of your big day. Xoxo.

Juliane, Diane, and Jessie - way to go ladies!

Drew & Kara wed! My childhood friend Kara got married at the end of May. She was an absolutely beautiful bride - and we are pretty big fans of her other half too! Congrats to Kara & Drew!

Early in June we got to celebrate my other childhood friend Joanie's soon-to-arrive baby boy! My sister and I think she should be a pregnant model - pregnancy does her body good!!! =)

We scored some excellent seats to the Orioles game thanks to Nellie and Chris (and their sweet connection to pitcher Jeremy Guthrie). The O's were hosting the Houston Astro's - Danny's chidhood team. I was in limbo all night since I grew up in MD and have die hard O's fans in my family but now I am faced with loyalty to Danny. I have come to grips with the fact that my baby boy is already an Astro's fan- Just as long as he is NOT a Cowboys fan - Go SKINS!!! The O's won that night - in fact, as Jeremy Guthrie would point out after the game to Danny, the O's swept the Astro's that week. =) All in all it was a fun night. A big thanks to Nellie and Chris (and Mr. Guthrie) for the tickets and letting us come down to hang out after. Poor Tejada got booed all night!

Danny and I took our niece and nephew to the DC Zoo. It was a lot of fun to get out an enjoy the city. Aidan and Lily were such troopers as we ventured all over that zoo. They never complained and thoroughly enjoyed the animals.Aidan imitating the snake.

Lily and Me

Lily LOVES elephants!

She sleeps with a stuffed one every night despite mom trying to sneak it away. Aidan just thought they smelled. =)

Oh the pandas - DC loves their pandas!

6 month baby bump - I popped! It is so exciting to feel and SEE the little guy moving around in my tum-tum these days. I have been so blessed to have felt so good - besides the occasional body ache and heartburn! Danny and I are still trying to settle on a name and we are still open to suggestions. =)

We went to Wolf Trap to see Sergio Mendes preform with his latest group. I love Wolf Trap - its the nicest and cleanest place to see live entertainment. Wolf Trap is actually a National Park for the Preforming Arts. If you ever get a chance you should totally go see a show there - it is wonderful. Sergio did not disappoint and I loved being surrounded by so many of my fellow Brasilians - as if I don't get enough being around my mom so much!

PS - I had no CAVITIES!

In Other News...

A huge water main break has left our area with unsafe drinking water. For the last 3 days we have been advised to only drink bottled water and to hand wash dishes, brush teeth, feed pets, etc. with water that has been properly sanitized through boiling. The grocery stores are fresh outta bottled water and people seem to be in kinda a panic. Of course it is not an ideal situation but I just see it as we have arrived in Mexico early.

Also, Danny went to the dentist for the first time in... a while, and left with a clean bill of health. I am so proud of him. I go next week and I am hoping for the same outcome. A girl can dream, right!?

A Baby Shower ~ Mexicano Style

My older sister is a magician. She can pull off the seemingly impossible - except a blog - get on it sista! Last weekend she threw a Mexican fiesta themed baby shower with all the bells and whistles! We had an elaborate taco salad bar spread complete with home-made tortilla chips (courtesy of Baja Fresh). A big thanks to Carmen for everything. Thanks to mom, Allie, and Katy for making and preparing food. Thanks Jen for the pictures. And... thanks to all who braved the weather and long drives to come!

24 weeks ... only 16 to go!Jen giving loves to the bump. Riley shakin' her maracas.

I was a spoiled mommy ... Jack, James, whoever he is is one spoiled baby!So excited!

Happy (belated) Birthday

Nate Dogg turned the big ONE! I think that he is the most laid back and happy baby. Jenny want to share your secret to a soon-to-be mom of a baby boy? But really, Nathan is just so lovable. When my oldest nephew Dallin (age 11) went out to Utah a few months back he left a little teary eyed having to say goodbye to little Nathan. We are all excited for the up-coming wedding of my little sister in August for obvious reasons but I can't lie - Nathan coming to town is a large bonus for everyone (and seeing me 33 weeks prego too). Anyway, late as usual but still with so much enthusiasm -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN!

Happy (belated) Birthday Lily!

Lily girl is 3!

Although I think she seems more like 16 with her cute little sassy ways. She is spunky, full of life, compassionate, and can handle her own amongst all her boy cousins and big brother!

Happy Birthday to our little Diva!!!She likes the big bucks cause the girl can shop! Red flats - she always knows what's in style.

News is in...

Despite the fact everyone thought it was a girl (except Nellie, Katy, Diane, and me) the baby did show us his boy parts after some serious patience. His little legs were crossed so tight for much of the sonogram I was getting worried we would not get to see it's plumbing. Thankfully the sonogram technician was prepared to push on and shake my stomach until the kid decided to spread them!
Now let the shopping begin...
